Note: time for a payment if you haven't done it already!! Thanks!!

Special Note!! We need your help!! Please come help us plant..Sunday June 15..I will be out there at 6 am when it is cool..would like to be done before noon when it is way hot!!

June is marching on..solstice is right around the corner..                                                         The weather this week has been variable..hot and sunny Friday and Saturday..cloudy and much cooler Sunday..Della and I were working in the high tunnel and were dressed for 90..we had to break down and go put more clothes on!! Monday and Tuesday the sun was back at full force..Wednesday we had clouds and a few thundershowers both in the morning and the afternoon with sun in between..and today it was bright and sunny and hot. Everyday except Sunday our temps have been in the 80's and low 90's with lows high 40 to low 50. Sunday our high was about 70..our low was 34..had a few panicky moments Monday morning when I saw frost on the wood of the hardening off bench..had to run around and check all our babies to make sure they were all right!! Everyone came through with flying colors..even the cucs that we have planted in one of the "cold" spots. the forecast for next week is calling for hot and dry much of the week..we wouldn't mind the occasional cloud or two!!

In the tunnels..Favas have gone crazy!! Della and Claire picked over 40 lbs this week and they are just starting!! if you haven't seen the tunnel for a while you will not recognize it..all those lush green leafies have made way for warm season goodies!! All are doing well..my tomato wall is on it's way up the trellis..it will be a while before they get as big as the favas..we are seeing many more little tiny pea sized tomatoes..don't know about you, but I can't wait!! Many of the peppers are blooming, the cucs are still doing the little boy blossom thing..eggplant is growing well..okra is happy in it's new home.

Outdoors..Planting frenzy continues..and the heat is on..literally!! we have 1 more short week to get the rest of everything planted out so that they will have time to mature before that first fall frost!! Please consider coming out to help plant the rest of our transplants..Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday..I will be out there at 6 am!!

Pea picking adventures were much more productive this week..not as productive as the favas..but a decent amount..and many more to come!! Pea season may be short but sweet..but oh so good!!

Our thanks to Sonja, Claire, and Transition Lab for helping us out this week!!

Updates on our little birdie friends. Della has checked her calendar and is thinking Coral may be about ready to hatch!!

Duckies are all doing well.. Titus is still hanging in there..and she thinks that Quakers, one of the other khaki cambells is ready to set.  Kiera..the lap duck.. seems to be settling in for the duration

 Baby chickies will be 14 weeks old on Monday.. The new babies will be about  11 weeks old on Tuesday. They are getting very selective about their greens..we have been taking them some of the trimmings from the greens, lettuces, etc and Mom has been getting them a bucket of weeds everyday. They like chard, kale, a very eclectic assortment of weeds, kohlrabi, beet, carrot, and radish tops..They do not like lettuce, dill, mizuna, or bok choi!!

note: we do have chicken and duck eggs for sale here at the farm..chicken eggs are $4.00 and Duck eggs are $6.00. Just give us a call..249-9725..to pick some

work days for June will be every Sunday 9:00-noon. I can set up special days during the week for those folks that are unable to do Sat. Please let me know when you plan on being here.

Please help us if you can..our intern search is not going well..so far we have managed with the help of Transition Lab, good friends and Csa members..but it is May and time for planting frenzy!! Any help on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday would be greatly appreciated!! { I start about 6 and go until I just can't go any longer}

Please talk us up to friends, family, co-workers, etc. We can talk to folks, show them around, and tell them how we grow your food, but it is your enthusiasm that gets them hooked!!
