Note: if you haven't made a payment recently..it's time!!

Wanted!! fall leaves!!

Well, it has been another lovely week!! Lots of sunshine with cool fall temperatures{want to know the Main reason we didn't get much rain Wednesday??..Zeno washed up all our bins on Monday so we wouldn't be washing them in the pouring rain!!} Not sure it will work again this coming week..we are supposed to get rain coming in Monday or Tuesday..and be much cooler..in the 50's during the day with low 30's at night.

In the tunnels..Harvested more sweet potatoes in the low tunnel. Peppers and tomatoes are still going pretty strong{may change with the colder temps next week} Greens just keep on a growin'!!

Outdoors..Fall harvest is in full swing. We are starting to harvest lots of fall roots to put into storage for those final CSA pickups in Dec..Remember that day last year when the temperature on Saturday didn't even get above 30 and we had everything on the tables tucked up in blankets?? {right after we had mucho snow??} We are hoping that the weather will continue to be fairly mild until AFTER we are all done..Della and I are just NOT ready!! So far we have kohlrabi, carrots, a few beets, turnips, celeriac, potatoes, onions, and radishes in. Still have many more of all of them to harvest..and haven't even started on rutabaga, parsnips, sunchokes, and sugar beets!!!

Updates on our little birdie friends..Coral's babies were 17 weeks old on Monday. Mom's babies..are almost 17 weeks old today and tomorrow. Della and Alex have started the fence around the fall roots so we can let them into the garden to graze and forage{and fertilize!!} anything that will be left the next few weeks.

Duckies I think spent the week doing a rain dance..they were not quite as pleased with the weather as we were!!  Kiera's baby..who's name is little squoosh.. will be 10 weeks old tomorrow..he has learned how to quack now!!

Baby chickies will be 33 weeks old on Monday.. The new babies will be about  30 weeks old on Tuesday. I think most of them are laying now..and the eggs are getting bigger.

note: we do have chicken and duck eggs for sale here at the farm..chicken eggs are $4.00 and Duck eggs are $6.00. Just give us a call..249-9725..to pick some

work days Starting this weekend ..October 26..we will start doing some Sunday workdays..9 am to noon..Workdays during the week will be Tuesday and Wednesday.

We still have a few shares available..

Exciting news!!! Colorado will have a labeling GMO initiative on the ballot in November..Proposition 105..PLEASE learn more about why labeling foods containing GMO's is so important..help get the word out..and PLEASE vote!!

What is available for the CSA?

This is my best guess of what we will be harvesting this week. Much of our warm season goodness is done for the season..you will be seeing lots of different cool season roots, shoots and tubers in the coming weeks!! Not sure what to do with your bounty?? Our website has a recipe section that I add to just about every week!!

NOTE:For food safety..our veggies are not ready to eat..we "chill" or hydro-cool them to get the field heat out but they are not washed!! Please wash them before you eat them!!
