Happy Springtime in the Rockies!!

Note: veggie pickup will be this coming Saturday , May 4, from 9 am to noon. looking forward to seeing you all!!! Not signed up yet? We have 31 more weeks of fresh goodies to go...they just get better and better!!! Please call me before Friday Morning if you want veggies Saturday!!{new sign ups only}

Spring is marching is still marching on!! We can't believe it is May already!! The weather this last couple of weeks has been mostly pretty good....lots of sunshine and warm temperatures last week. This week we have clouds, lots of rain....3 days of rain showers off and on.. and cooler temps....except for the cooler nighttime temps...down into the 30's with maybe a night or two into the 20's... we have been ok with it...we needed the rain even though we would like for the sun to come back!!! This morning we were thinking that duck feet would be a good thing to have.

I the prop house things are still booming...I still have one flat of late cauliflower to prick up, and outdoor peppers, eggplant, and basil getting ready to prick up. I just started summer squash, part of the winter squash, gourds, okra, tomatillos and?.

In the high tunnel...the landscape is starting to change slowly. Most of our first planting of greens and radishes will be harvested this week...and part of our second planting. The girls have spent much of this week in the tunnels...weeding again, tying up favas. and planting sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The peas in the low tunnel are just starting to bloom.

Outdoors...It is starting to look like a garden!!!...all sort of goodies are either up or have been transplanted and are doing very well!! We now have all the alliums in. peas. favas. carrots. turnips. radishes. artichokes. cabbages, kohlrabi. all sorts of greens and lettuces and more!! Apricots and cherries are through blooming...plums are in full bloom. pears and apples are just starting. Hopefully it won't get too cold the next couple of nights and freeze all those tender little flowers!!

Time to sign up for our CSA!! Our fourth veggie pickup is this coming Saturday... 31 weeks of awesome fresh produce left in the season!!!  Please get signed up so you can enjoy a season of many different farm fresh veggies every week April-November. Please go to www.circleagarden.com   If you have any questions or concerns please call me of an evening{970-249-9725} or shoot me an e-mail,, circlea@skybeam.com

Fun happenings  Mud season seems to be back this week!!! The lilacs are blooming, plants are growing, birds are singing in between rain showers, AND lord willin and the crick don't rise{and no hail or other unexpected happenings!!} we may actually have apricots this year!!! I can see little tiny apricots just starting to grow!!!

What is available for the CSA?

This is my best guess of what we will be harvesting each week...sometimes plants will surprise us once we get in there to harvest.

Please remember to wash your veggies before you eat them...we consider our veggies raw agricultural products and not ready to eat...we do chill most of them in a cool water bath to remove the field heat, but do not wash them!!!!

Not sure what to do with your veggies?  Please ask us or go to the web site...we have lots of recipes posted there...Do you have a fun way to prepare your veggies? Please share...inquiring minds want to know!!!

from the tunnel: chard, kale, bok choi, orach, yakina savoy, mustards, salad greens,Radishes, turnips,

possibly carrots, beets and head lettuces

From the great out of doors: rhubarb, green garlic,  green onions

Note: have a mini share looking for a share partner. please call me if you are interested

Work days ...our main pushes for May will be getting more beds ready and planted....weeding crops that are already going.....Planting frenzy continues!!!

Please give me a call 970-249-9725 to set up a day and time to come commune with your veggies!!

Hope you are enjoying spring!!

Looking forward to seeing all of you on Saturday!!!
