Happy Springtime in the Rockies!!

Note: First veggie pickup of the 2020 season was last Saturday...it went very well!!!

Note: We need a couple more workshare folks. Please give me a call {Betsy} 970-249-9725 if you would like more information.

Just a brief note....hope everyone is staying healthy and able to find peace and sanity during this trying time...

Well, it is definitely springtime in the rockies!!! The weather the last couple of weeks has been very unsettled.... some sunshine and warm days mixed in with cold, windy cloudy days. Monday night we were VERY cold...something like 14 degrees!!! Yesterday morning it was 20 at 8 am...didn't get much above 30 even though the sun was shining brightly!! Today is cloudy, but warmer...I think it has gotten up into the 40's!!!

In the prop house...have gotten the celeriac, lettuce, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, broccoli, and cauliflower plus a seed flat of zinnias and marigolds all pricked up. Keep filling all my space in the prop house up…we keep kicking stuff out to the honey house.....it is now getting very full. The hardening off bench if filling up as well. Hopefully we can get a couple of decent weeks of planting weather in so we can move some of these babies out to the field!!! Also started flats of cucumbers for the high tunnel, more cabbages, cauliflower, kohlrabi, nasturtium, and calendula.

In the high tunnel....Everything weathered the cold the other night very well...we see a couple of leaves that got a bit frosted but everything looked great this morning when I pulled the remay off. Our first harvest was last week...we harvested green onions, turnips, swiss chard, kale, fava greens, endive, Tokyo bekana, yakina savoy, orach, mustard, some misc. Asian greens, beta greens. baby lettuce. chives, oregano, and pine apple sage. looks like we may have a few baby carrots and beet greens this week as well. The peas finally started blooming so maybe we'll have peas in a couple weeks!!

Outdoors...tree pruning is progressing slowly, but surely.  We did get peas, beets, and carrots planted before it got so cold...now we are working on favas , turnips, radishes and all those babies over on the hardening off bench. Please think warm thoughts for this next week!!!

Time to sign up for our CSA!! We will be starting veggie pickup Saturday, April 11th this year. Please get signed up so you can enjoy a season of many different farm fresh veggies every week April-November. Please go to www.circleagarden.com   If you have any questions or concerns please call me of an evening{970-249-9725}

not so Fun happenings  That cold the other night zapped the apricots, nanking cherries, lovage, and some of the daffodils. I think the rhubarb is looking ok...will know better tomorrow when I go to pick just a bit of it!!

Work days ...our main pushes  April and May will be finishing the pruning and getting early season crops in the ground....Planting frenzy commences April 1!!!!! Please think about coming out and giving us a hand...we still need to practice social distancing, handwashing. etc. but it is easier in the fresh air and sunshine.

give me a call 970-249-9725 to set up a day and time!!

Hope you are all ready to enjoy spring!! Please stay healthy!!

Looking forward to seeing all of you in April!!!
