Grilled Steak-Wrapped Scallion Appetizers

1 lb. top round steak, sliced horizontally about 1/4 inch thick (4-5 slices total)

1 bunch thick scallions, root ends and about one half of the green tops trimmed off

 1/3 c. soy sauce

 1/4 c. bottled salsa

2 t. minced garlic, mashed to a paste

Tightly roll meat slices around the green onions. Secure each with a toothpick and place in a flat, shallow dish just large enough to hold the rolls. Mix soy sauce, salsa and garlic paste and pour over the steak; let marinate at room temperature one hour (or in refrigerator 2-3 hours), turning often. Meanwhile, prepare coals on an outdoor grill. Grill steak rolls 3-4 minutes per side. Remove toothpicks and cut rolls into 1/2 inch rounds. Serve hot or at room temperature. Makes 32-36 bite-size appetizers.

This recipe is easy and tasty. You'll need large thin slices of quality round steak for this recipe.Better to have the butcher do it on a meat slicer. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe. Sunny Gardens
